It could also bring terrible hardship, and death to the U.S.!!!
For years, as I have written about the "Gog/Magog" invasion of the Middle-East, based upon the Ezekiel: 38, and 39 prophecy, I have wrestled with my confusion over why America is not mentioned by God, even in a symbolic form, that would not be disturbing to the people He was talking to, about 2500 years ago, which would not understand a reference to a country that did not even exist, at that time!
There did not seem to be any reference to any ally coming to the aid of Israel, when they are attacked by Iran, with the backup support of Russia, and other Muslim nations' armies! Logically, this did not make sense to me, since we are Israel's best ally in the region, and the current events of today seem to suggest that this invasion may be soon in being brought to pass! As we have several thousand troops already deployed in the region, it seemed that they would immediately be directed to come to Israel's aid, as soon as the Iranian intentions became obvious. My best guess about this was to speculate that our troops would be recalled from the region, before the invasion began. President Trump tried to begin the process of withdrawing our troops, until it became obvious that Turkey would immediately attack the Kurdish troops that had greatly aided us in driving I.S.I.S. out of the area. There has been a long-standing dispute between Turkey, and the Kurdish people, about ownership of the territory of northern Iraq.
The dispute in the defense department caused the resignation of Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, and Trump eventually backed off.
But, suppose these troops remained stationed where they are, and there was no way to issue the orders to help Israel, when it is invaded by Iran???
Recently, our N.S.A. began a sophisticated Cyber attack on the defense computer network of Iran. The N.S.A. is reputed to have the most efficient Cyber-attacking capabilities in the world. But, at the same time, America is considered to be very vulnerable from the same kind of Cyber attack, from others! Our military would not consider attacking an enemy, if their capacity to counter attack would be devastating, but that seems to be exactly what the N.S.A. has done!!! We have the capacity to temporarily shut down their entire military grid, but can they do the same thing in retaliation, which Iran would clearly love to do??! If they did this, perhaps they could conceivably carry out their entire Middle-East invasion, while we were unable to communicate with our armed forces, anywhere throughout the world!!! This might seem an inviting prospect to the invaders, but God has prohecied that He will help Israel defeat the invaders, miraculously!!! Perhaps a devastating earthquake will destroy a large portion of the invaders, and a resulting panicked retreat may cause the retreaters to fight with others who are trying to stop the retreat! The Ezekiel prophecy states that every mans' sword (or, modern weapon?) will be against his "brother" (or, comrade in arms?). By whatever this is referring to, Israel (and God) are able to destroy the invaders to the extent of 83 and 1/3rd %, of their invasion force !!!
What is not said in the prophecy, besides any mention of anything that can remotely be interpreted as Cyber Warfare, which would make no sense to the people who heard the prophecy, was what would be the result of a Cyber attack on us??? Would it be limited to the communication facilities of our Armed forces, or would it shut down our entire electric grid, even temporarily causing devastating difficulties around the country!!! Grocery stores would not be able to restock dwindling supplies, and Hospitals, and police, and fire stations would not be able to communicate with their units, in emergencies, for however long the cyber-black-out continued (days, weeks, or months; who knows?)!!!
But, with typical government planning, no attempt to harden our grid from such a possibility has been started!!! The government tends to RESPOND to emergencies, rather than preempt them! So, we may be in for some tough times ahead!!! Only fervent prayer can save us from such a disaster!!!
