With all due apologies for my obsessive myopia, I just can't help seeing the whole chaotic Middle-East situation as being conspiratorial, between the greedy, hegemonistic Russian President Vladimir Putin, and the absolutely demon-possessed lunacy that prevails over his most dangerous Muslim ally, Iran. I realize that I've already speculated that the Ezekiel 38, & 39 "Gog/Magog" Middle-East invasion may have already begun (see post for January 26, of this year, in the archive column to the right of this column), but this time I'm serious...No, really!...I mean it!...At least I think so...Maybe...Kindasorta...I guess??? That's about as certain as I can express my confidence in this whole thing, but it is interesting, so I thought I'd pass it along, and let the reader decide if there was any real basis for my speculation, or not.
In Yemen, today, we have an interesting pantomime playing out in deadly terms, right before our eyes. We have the Shiite Muslim, "Iranian-backed" Militias (which probably are comprised of members of the Iranian Republican Guard (their most elite armed troops), probably dressed in civilian clothes, yet likely armed to the teeth with Iran's most sophisticated weapons, which call themselves the "Houthis". They have taken over large portions of the northern part of the country, forcing the government to abandon its capitol city, and the president to flee the country altogether. Then we have the Sunni Muslim Al Quaida rebels, which American Special Forces Advisers were helping the Yemeni troops resist, until they recently had to pull out because the whole situation was getting too chaotic to understand who they were actually fighting. We also have their "fellow Sunnis", the I.S.I.S. terrorists entering the picture recently, fighting with their "brothers", Al Quaida, (I thought the one was created by the other?), and now we have the Saudi Arabians flying air strikes over the Shiite "Houthis", as if they realize this is a potential land-grab orchestrated by the Iranians (who have long coveted the oil fields of the Saudis, and Emirates of the southern Gulf states). If they are right, the form of invasion smacks of Russian planning (please refer to the same tactics used by the Russians in the Ukraine: dressing up their crack troops(?) and calling them "Russian sympathizing rebels", while supplying them with plenty of sophisticated arms, and ammunition, all the while denying they are involved at all). Sounds to me like Putin has given them the green light to march on the Gulf States from the south, soon to be followed by Russian troops moving into Syria, to protect their ally. Then, they'll just switch positions when they are ready to reveal their real intentions, with Russia moving against Saudi Arabia, and the Emirates, from the north, and Iran turning to invade Israel, which they'd rather conquer, anyway. Sounds pretty diabolical, right? Well, it all fits with the Ezekiel 38,& 39 prophecy, and I've already expounded at length as to how God has promised to intervene in some manner to cause these forces to turn against each other and destroy themselves, leaving only one-sixth to tell the story, back home.

I won't bother to list the posts which go into this in detail, as there are so many, and their titles are mostly self-explanatory. It all means that we're going home soon, so (as I keep quoting Jesus:) "look up for your redemption draweth nigh"!!!
I will direct the reader to my post of June 10, 2013 (titled, "Revelation's Sixth And Seventh Seals"), for a more detailed examination of the biblical reasoning for my beliefs as to the after-effects of all this. I will caution the reader to, "tighten his, or her girth" before doing so, because the logic (if correct) will conclude with some rather frightening details (at least for the non-believers in Jesus Christ as their Lord, and Savior). If I'm not correct, I apologize in advance for scaring the "willies" out of those who were misled. But if it serves to move any to call upon Jesus to save their souls, then I've done them a favor anyway, because the "Rapture" will happen, sometime! We just can't be sure when. But in the sense of, "better to be safe then sorry", if I'm right and there are those who read my post without calling upon Jesus to save their souls, they'll be real "sorry", for a very long time (it's called "eternity"!). But my June 10, 2013 post details my best guess meditations at least. What do you think???

What's The Deal In Yemen???
A classic case of pure chaos seems to be developing in Yemen, yet somehow I sense that God is at work here. We have a government that has been predominantly Sunni Muslim oriented, yet quite loyal to American aid, financially, and militarily. They were recently "overthrown" by a Shiite dominated coup that is supposedly loyal to Iran, and driven to the "southern" regions. Now we have Yemen's Al Quaida affiliates fighting with elements of I.S.I.S. (whom I thought were branches of each other), forcing the evacuation of our Special Forces Advisors who were assisting the former government forces in fighting Al Quaida. I presume that means we evacuated the personnel, but left all the heavy equipment and ammunition for the general use of the Al Quaida, and I.S.I.S. forces on a first-come, first-served basis, (whomever gets there first). That's what happened in Iraq, when the Iraqi Army panicked and ran, leaving all their American-supplied armaments for I.S.I.S. to plunder.
I guess the American Advisers were evacuated partly for safety concerns, but mostly because they can't figure out whom they're fighting! Everybody seems to hate everybody else, and they're all armed to the teeth, to boot. The interesting point here is that I think somehow God is using this apparent chaos to further set up the Ezekiel 38, & 39 Russian/Muslim Allied invasion of the Middle-East, that may be coming as soon as this summer. The three main Muslim Ally nations that are listed in this prophecy are "Persia, Cush, and Put", which biblical scholars have long felt were the present-day countries of Iran (Persia), Libya (Put), and Ethiopia (Cush). But I've struggled with believing that Ethiopia was correctly designated, since they have such a large population of Coptic Christians, and even some Jewish believers residing there. Recently, I came across the writings of Flavius Josephus, the ancient Maccabean general who was captured by the Roman soldiers and commissioned to write an exhaustive history of the Jewish people. I believe it was he who wrote that the descendants of Cush, one of Noah's grandsons, migrated to, "Arabia, not to Ethiopia', as had long been supposed, and Yemen is just south of Saudi Arabia, on their peninsula. If this is true, we may be looking at God's set-up of the Russian ally that He was referring to in His Ezekiel prophecies. Whomever wins this conflict, we can be certain that they will have plenty of animosity built up for their enemies, and if Putin can "miraculously" arrange some kind of shaky, temporary truce between former enemies, in order to facilitate the "greater good" of invading Israel (which they all hate worse than each other), it will be a simple trick for God to cause their personal animosity to boil over when Israeli resistance becomes troublesome, facilitating their own murderous self-destruction (to the tune of 83% of their invasion force, as described in the prophecies).

"Cold War"???...Right Idea, Wrong Temperature!!!
I must confess, I have degenerated into an obsessive "channel surfer", and occasionally my obsession lands me on the enemy's territory: C.N.N. News Channel. I was flabbergasted earlier today when I clicked onto a C.N.N. interview with some general at the Pentagon who was apparently voicing concern that Russia's President Putin seems to be spending enormous amounts of money on re-armament programs. His conclusion was from a typically American perspective, and even more typically, from the "diplomacy-first" perspective that would appease the lilly-livered Security Analysts in the White House. He expressed concern that Putin was preparing for another "Cold War" with the West. My immediate reaction was to except his concern, but to heartily disagree with his conclusion! "Cold War"... my ___[foot]!!! There is nothing "cold" about Putin's intentions, unless you count the blood running through his veins.
Putin surely recognizes that he can not sustain a new "Cold War" with the West ( meaning, of course, America; since Europe's economy is nearly a basket-case), unless he can find a new source of income that will greatly diminish the effects of the U.S., and European sanctions that have been imposed upon Russia's economy. Therefore, he must fund any military build-up with a "Great Spoil" taken from some other countries' treasuries. And the weaker their military is in putting up a resistance, so much the better. I'm sorry, if this sounds too much like Ezekiel 38, & 39 terminology, but that is another of my "obsessions". (Check out the words that God uses to describe the invader's intentions, in Ezekiel 38:12, and see for yourself if this doesn't seem to fit.) Anyway, I expect that the oil fields of Saudi Arabia, and the other Gulf States, along with the accumulated wealth of the Sheiks seems like an "apple ready for the plucking" to a greedy, over-grown spoiled brat, like Putin, who would not bat an eye for the millions who might die from his invasion, as long as he can defeat the purposes of the Western sanctions. I've used the comparison of the brat, who want's to get back at his parents, for punishing him when he throws a tantrum, and make them "suffer", rather than simply repenting of his tantrum. I think the parallel is appropriate enough, here. What does he care, if millions have to die in order for him to conquer the whole world, as he surely intends. Unfortunately, the millions who die will mostly be from his invasion force, when God causes their infighting to destroy 83% of their forces.
Lest we feel sorry for those who will die because of one man's greed remember that I have written that I believe there is a strong connection between the prophecies of Ezekiel 38, & 39, and those in Revelations: Chapters 6, and 7 (which I've expounded upon in my Aug. 19, 2014 post; see the Archive List to the immediate right of this column). Ezekiel 39 ends with the image of whomever is commanding the retreating forces after the invasion is decimated, with retaliation against the land that lives securely along "the coastlands", when God causes him to "send fire" upon them, and upon "Magog". This imagery strikes pictures of Russian Nuclear missiles raining down upon a nation whose population resides mostly along the coasts of rivers, large lakes, and oceans (America?). Since American technology is largely responsible for the Israeli, and Saudi Arabian military forces ability to defeat an invasion, I can see why a retreating commander might blame America for their defeat (it's easier than acknowledging that God exists, and He has miraculously protected His people, Israel). America would be obligated to retaliate against "Magog" (thought to be Russia), turning their homeland into a Nuclear wasteland. But Russia is on record as believing that they could survive a Nuclear holocaust, in their underground subway tunnels, with merely "acceptable" casualties. Perhaps for a "thousand years", (see Revelation: 20:5, through 9), before their descendants are briefly "released"??? As for those under attack in America, I believe the account in Revelation 7 indicates that (the Church, or worldwide body of believers in Jesus) will be "raptured" by the Angels of God (see Matthew 24: verses 29, through 31), to meet the Lord in the air, before the missiles can detonate, and too bad for those who are not ready (Matthew 25).
I realize how lunatic all these images must seem to the biblically unversed, but don't blame me for them. I didn't write them, God did; or rather He revealed them to his prophets, who transcribed them for Him. If they are hard to believe, don't complain to me about it, take your complaints to God, and let Him settle it for you. If you don't know Him, I suggest you apply the recommendation I wrote under the Heading of this Blog, and invite Jesus to come into your heart, forgive you of your sins (as we are all sinners, in need of His forgiveness), and become your Lord, and Savior, and then all these images will begin to make sense. Until then, it will all seem lunatic, and when it all comes to pass, it will be too late! As for a time frame on all this; lets just say that the reference in Matthew 24, of the "sun [becoming] as blood, and the moon shall not give it's light" sure sounds a lot like the "Blood Moons" of last Spring, and Fall, which are set to be repeated this year, demarcating the time of year when the warring nations of the Middle-East have traditionally gone to war with their neighbors...I'm just saying...!

Ferguson Missouri... The "Revolution" Begins
The "Greenies", Tree Huggers, "Commies", and the Black Panthers are all having a wonderful time in Missouri, desperately trying to create the illusion of an international "revolution" breaking out there, in response to the "martyrdom" of that poor, innocent, unarmed young man who was reputed to have been shot and killed by a police officer while complying with arrest commands, with his hands up in surrender. Let's get real, folks! If this is the best they can do for moral outrage, than this "revolution" is going no where. The young man was filmed hours earlier "shoplifting" some cigars from a convenience store, and bullying the clerk who tried to stop him from leaving without paying. This "poor", young man, in a very large body, apparently figured he was big enough to force people into letting him have his way, or he would threaten them with violence. Does this sound like a man who will cooperate with police investigations, or one who would scuffle with a cop, and try to grab the officer's gun to shoot him with? After all, the witness who claimed he was surrendering, with his hands up, has a record with the police himself, and a history of lying. Other witnesses have been afraid of retaliation, should they come forward.
All this is not to say that the police department in Ferguson is not run by a predominantly Racist cadre of white policemen. If so, then the Justice Dept. Investigation's conclusions will effectively deal with the problem, beginning with the resignation of the Police Chief, which recently took place. Remember, this is an area long known for the preponderance of white supremacist groups flourishing, such as the K.K.K. If the "Black Panthers" think that promoting violence against reputedly white racist cops will accomplish more than "legitimizing" their racist tactics, incurring more of the same, then they are wrong.
Last night two Ferguson cops (presumably white) were shot, while policing another demonstration. I am not necessarily blaming the "Panthers" for this, but if it is their fault they can expect a back-lash of public sentiment that will probably have a reverse effect than they would probably expect. If this is an area where white racism is traditionally accepted, you're not going to end it with a dose of "black racism", or violent retaliation for imagined offenses that don't hold up to public scrutiny. It will only be reversed by allowing outside calming influences to deal with the problem. But, as I said yesterday, chaos breeds more chaos, until the people have had a belly-full, and then the perpetrators will eventually get busted! So, don't think this will go unpunished for long. Even if man can not bring these "perps" to justice, God can, and eventually will, without repentance. And believe me, God's justice is terrible, and forever!

The Chaos Grows Apace
The usual formula for international chaos is that chaos breeds more chaos, until the preeminent power base has had enough, and then they squash the chaos permanently. I see this pattern developing in Syria, and Iraq, today. The Communist regimes in Russia have long felt that the best way to conquer a country was to create a situation of intolerable chaos which will reach such a point of overwhelming despair that the people will welcome any force (such as Russia) that is powerful enough to end the chaos, even if they have to settle for a Soviet-style of authoritarian dictatorship. This formula works well, until it is interfered with by a more benevolent force (like the U.S., at least in the past) which is strong enough to end the chaos, and protect the people from hegemonistic dictatorships, like Russia.
Now we have reports of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Dempsey, testifying before Congress that there are conditions that would necessitate American attacks (presumably aerial bombardments) against the Syrian Government forces. Our advisers are set to begin training the rebel forces that will attack the I.S.I.S. rebels, that are supposed to be attacking the Syrian forces, which hold Russia, and Iran as their allies. But Gen. Dempsey explained that any Syrian attacks on the rebels we are about to train will force American retaliation, or we simply could not recruit any rebels to train to fight I.S.I.S. As that great military strategist once said, "things are getting curiouser, and curiouser." (Alice in Wonderland).
The only problem is that our President Numbskull is apparently unwilling to commit sufficient forces to counter any Russian interference that will surely be soon forthcoming. But take heart, there is another force around that is even more benevolent than America, and much more able to squash the chaos in the Middle-East. God Almighty is merely waiting for Russia's President "Gog" (sorry, I mean Putin) to commit his forces into a Middle-East invasion that will be so powerful that only a miracle could stop them. But that's just His line of work, don't you know! A World Gone To Hell...So What's New?
A quick perusal of the news headlines could scare the heck out of most people today. The trustworthy cease-fire agreement between the Ukrainian government troops and the "pro-Russian Separatists", which seems to be violated by one side or the other daily, if not by both; the threat of Iran developing a nuclear warhead with which it can, and has already vowed that it will, destroy all the Jews in Israel, and then the Jews of the rest of the world (which means America), next; the fighting in Iraq between the bloodthirsty I.S.I.S. Terrorists, and the equally bloodthirsty Iranian troops who pretend to be volunteer sympathizers with the Iraqi regime, but we all know that they were soldiers in the Iranian "Republican Guard" until recently (which is a near blasphemy to apply the word "Republican" to anything coming out of that government); and, frankly, it looks like "six of one, etc......" as to who wins that conflict; and the hegemonistic fervor that seems to be oozing out of the Kremlin, in Moscow, with Putin trying to tie up his invasion of the Ukraine, before the economic sanctions of the western allies totally destroys the Russian economy, which will all but force him to invade the Middle-East to take over the Gulf States oil reserves, in order to turn off the spigots to the West, until they end their sanctions, and so forth. It's almost hard to believe that God is really in control of all this chaos around the world, but He is!!!
This is really nothing new as far as He is concerned. Throughout history (which we must remember is nothing less than "His Story") there have been countless periods of bloody chaos breaking out throughout the world, always followed by God's peace prevailing and the ultimate judgment of the evil people who were responsible for the chaos, in the first place. We remember the enslavement of the Israelites in Egypt, which God relieved through His ten plagues, and the parting of the Red Sea; then the Babylonian conquest, and the restoration of the Kingdom of Israel; the Roman conquest, and the crucifixion of our Lord, which only facilitated the spread of Christianity throughout the world; the holocaust, which not only killed six million Jews (which the Iranians deny that it ever happened), but necessitated the deaths of roughly 100 million people during World War II, and the cold war threats that followed. All of this has merely set the stage for what we see unfolding today. When Putin finally brings his forces into the Middle-East, he's going to be so surprised to find that God is still on the thrown, and that He resents Putin's intentions to destroy His people, Israel, on the way to conquer the Gulf States' oil fields. When He causes 83% of the Invasion Force to destroy themselves with their infighting, God will force even Putin to recognize that He is in control, and there will be an accounting for his behavior!
Or, as God calls it, He will get the glory when he brings His judgment upon the Forces that will come against Israel!!! So, take heart, Christians! God is in control, and (I say again) look up! "For your redemption draweth nigh!!!"
