Trump Is Sticking To His Guns

I'll admit I have been a little skeptical about Trump's campaign "promise" to not only build the  Wall between the U.S., and Mexico, but to  "make Mexico pay for it!".  I could see another war with Mexico developing from that kind of rhetoric, but I couldn't see Trump actually pursuing that kind of an international policy between nations, successfully,  yet he seems determined to do just that.   I'll admit I am a bit intrigued to see just exactly how he plans to pull this off, and whether he actually can do it, or not.  Actually, the Mexican government is responsible for the immigration problem in the southwestern states; they could have tried a whole lot harder to effectively close the borders, but they chose to open their "doors" to our borders.  This kind of, "let the other guy deal with the problem" attitude may have been easier and cheaper for them in the short run, but they should pay for it now.  But getting them to agree is not likely, as far as I can see.  I guess Trump figures he knows something I don't, and I can't guess what that might be.  But if he pulls it off, it will be fascinating to watch!  Nothing is more gratifying than watching irresponsible people forced to own up to their responsibilities.  Kudos to Trump, if he pulls this off!

In other news, Former South Carolina Governor, Nicky Haley has been confirmed by the Senate as the new U.N. Ambassador.  As a devout Christian, she will be taking a lot of "flack" in that mostly evil organisation, but she was a pretty tough character as Governor, so, "more power to her"!

The biggest issue for the Trump Administration seems to be naming a Supreme Court Justice to replace the late Antonin Scalia.  Plus there are rumors that Clarence Thomas may be thinking about retiring: something rarely done by Supreme Court Justices, who are appointed to their roles for life. President Trump has a list of about twenty high quality candidates to choose from, and this is probably the reason Clarence Thomas is thinking about retiring now, to assure that his replacement is chosen by a conservative president.  I remember that Dwight Eisenhower nominated two candidates that he was assured were very conservative judges, but in fact turned out to be some of the most liberal members of the Supreme Court, once they were safely confirmed.  He went on record as saying that this was one of the biggest regrets of his presidency.  But, once confirmed by the Senate, you're stuck with them till they die!  May God spare us from sending any  more liberal idiots to high power positions in Washington!  We have had enough of that for our own lifetimes!

Trump Versus The Leftist Media

The battle lines appear to have been drawn: President-Elect Trump on one side, and the spoiled brats of the Leftist Media on the other.  (Guess which side I'm for.)  After his run-in with a journalist at the White House press conference, when a tirade of very rude challenges from the reporter erupted, a few days ago, the Trump officials are now seriously discussing evicting the White House Press Core to a new auditorium.  I wouldn't be surprised if some of the old members of the Press core are not invited to wherever the new venue is to be.  It's about time some of the press need to realize that access to the President depends on at least a minimum of polite behavior in the Press Room.  I understand that many Liberal Journalists are having a hard time accepting that Hillary lost the election.  But it's time they grow up and get over it!  I realize that the White House needs press coverage, but I think the press needs access to the White House much more.  If this blows up into each side boycotting the other, I think Trump will win this battle, too.

Their official media  response is to, "Object"... to Trumps efforts to avoid "Press scrutiny", as if that is absolutely necessary.  I think the media will get tired of reporting on nothing more than their objections, earlier than the Trump Administration will begin to miss their rude, liberal-twisted questioning.  What we have here is the media trying to pose as an indispensable element of a free, and democratic government.  This is certainly true, in the long run.  But, I don't think this squabble will last long, and I see the press breaking first.  They have more to lose in the short fall, in newspaper subscriptions dropped, and channel switching.  I think this is just a lot of blustering, on the part of the media.  Just a bunch of over-grown spoiled brats trying desperately to attract attention with their tantrums,  Get over it, for crying out loud!

Speaking of boycotts, liberal Congressmen are announcing their plans to boycott the Inauguration Ceremonies, by the dozens.  (Gee I can't guess which party will be most heavily represented here!)

The liberals are trying to pose as wounded parties in losing the election.  They refuse to accept the truth that they blew their own election efforts, regardless of any Russian hacking, or not.  Now their pathetic efforts to seem as innocent, wounded parties is nauseating to behold.  I wish the liberal press would collectively grow up, and face reality.   They had their way for 8 years, and America is far worse for it!  So it's time to sit down, and shut up, while others try to correct the mess that Obama has left us with!!!

Obama's A Great President,... At Least In His Own Mind...

At last we have the definitive word on Obama's legacy!!!  From Obama himself!!!  In his "farewell address", which C.B.N. described as "longer than the accumulative addresses of Reagan, Clinton, and Bush, he mentioned himself 75 times, promoting the many accomplishments of his administration, at least as he sees it.  It's almost as if he is trying to refute the almost inevitable historical assessment of his terms in office as the worst, and weakest in the history of American Presidents, even before they are written in future history books.  Perhaps he feels he must promote himself, because no one else is likely to do so.  This is finally the first issue that I can heartily concur with him about!!!  And I wish January 20th could get here even faster, and then, "Good Riddance to Obama, and the idiots who served under him"!!!

I'll admit to reservations for the Trump administration.  The man's heart appears to be well-intended, if his libido can remain in check.  He seems to have a good idea for what the business world needs to bring America back to world prominence. But does that translate into common sense in the field of international Geo-politics ?  We'll have to wait and see, about that, I guess.

The one major impression I have left over from this past election is this:  Trump won the Republican nomination, not because he was so good, but because the other candidates were more concerned with appearing presidential and wanting to moderate the Obama legacy, though the American people wanted to  abolish it!!!  After that, it was  a choice between an egotist, and a criminal, and that was not a difficult choice, at least not as I see it.

But if Trump wants a second term, he'd better keep his hands to himself, and get his fiscal house in order, quickly.  Because the Democrats will pounce on him if his policies take more than a couple years to show signs of improvement, especially in the areas of job creation, and a replacement for "Obama-Care"!!!

Sixteen days and counting...

Frankly I'm getting a little red in the face, holding my breath until Obama and his evil Administration leave office.  I don't know if I can last the next 16 days, without turning blue!  I wish Obama would pack up his Administration now and head for some place like Tehran, Iran where his "values"would be more appreciated.  Maybe he could apply for a new job as an  "Ayatollah in training".  That might be a better fit for him than as an American President. Maybe that would make Michele proud of Iran, "for the first time in (her) life"!

I understand that Obama seems to be spending his last days in office trying to make his "legacy" untouchable for the incoming Administration.  That seems to me to be a bit futile since most of his so-called "legacy" was built on circumventing the authority of Congress to make laws, as directed by the Constitution, and instead to pass the so-called Executive Orders, that Trump is readying to abolish as soon as he takes office.  Obama built himself an ethereal empire this way, almost like he was playing President in his imagination, while drawing a fat salary from the same Congress that he chose to ignore while setting his agenda.  Well , now he can take his game to some Middle-East country, and build his "sand box empire" there.

One of the first items on Trump's agenda seems to be abolishing the so-called "Obama Care" legislation that has turned into an insurance nightmare.  It is estimated that Congress may take as long as 4 years to create a replacement for this legislation .  So much for Obama's "legacy"!
